Embodiment approach 1

[0149] Embodiment 1: a kind of product, comprising:

[0150] A polymer layer disposed on and covering the first major surface of the elastic porous layer, wherein the polymer layer and the elastic porous layer together form a water vapor permeable air and water barrier;

[0151] an adhesive layer disposed on the second major surface of the elastic porous layer opposite the polymer layer; and

[0152] A liner is disposed on a major surface of the polymeric layer opposite the first major surface of the resilient porous layer, wherein the liner is impermeable to water vapor.

Embodiment approach 2

[0153] Embodiment 2: The article of embodiment 1, further comprising a coating composition disposed between at least a portion of the polymer layer and the liner, wherein the coating composition is disposed between at least a portion of the polymer layer and the liner. The first peel adhesion is lower than the second peel adhesion between the polymer layer and the liner.

Embodiment approach 3

[0154] Embodiment 3: The article of Embodiment 2, wherein the second peel adhesion is at least 15 N / dm.

Abstract

Provided herein is an article comprising a polymer layer disposed on and overlying a first major surface of a porous layer; an adhesive layer disposed on an elastic layer on a second major surface opposite the polymeric layer; and a liner disposed on a major surface of the polymeric layer opposite the first major surface of the elastic porous layer. The polymer layer and the porous layer together form a water vapor permeable air and water barrier. The liner is water vapor impermeable. In a preferred embodiment, the polymer layer comprises a polyoxyalkylene polymer having at least one end group derived from an alkoxysilane. Also provided are methods of applying an article to a surface of a building component.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This patent application claims priority to the following U.S. provisional applications: 62 / 206,348 filed August 18, 2015; 62 / 268,563 filed December 17, 2015; The disclosure of the patent application is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety. technical field [0003] The present disclosure also relates to articles that are water vapor permeable air and water barriers. Background technique [0004] Air barrier systems control the movement of air, especially water vapor, across the surface of a structure, such as a building envelope. In exterior walls, uncontrolled airflow is the greatest source of moisture and condensation damage. Indoor comfort is affected by air temperature, relative humidity, direction of airflow and surrounding surface temperature. Air barrier systems improve indoor air quality by effectively keeping pollutants out of building interiors. Contaminants include, for example, water vapor, ...
