Abstract

The invention relates to a unit for cutting thin films of synthetic material, said unit comprising: a worktable (28); and a cutting head (12) including a shoe (16) having a smooth bearing surface (20)and a cutting member (22) that can project from the smooth bearing surface (20), said smooth bearing surface being intended to be applied against the thin film (30) of synthetic material, while the shoe (16) is moved substantially parallel to the worktable (28) so that it can cut the thin film (30) of synthetic material. The worktable (28) comprises an adhesive coating (26) having a static coefficient of friction in relation to the synthetic material, while the smooth bearing surface (20) has a dynamic coefficient of friction in relation to the synthetic material, said dynamic coefficient offriction being lower than the static coefficient of friction.
