Abstract

The invention discloses a method for preparing oregano essential oil microcapsules by irradiation with a <12>C<6+> ion beam. The method comprises adding oregano essential oil into a mixed solution ofchitosan and eucommia gum, simultaneously, adding an emulsifier into the mixture, carrying out inclusion, and carrying out irradiation with a <12>C<6+> ion beam to obtain the oregano essential oil microcapsules. The method is free of an initiator, does not introduce impurity groups, produces pure products and is used for any monomer polymerization or grafting modification of chitosan and eucommiagum and thus in the essential oil microencapsulation based on the irradiation with a <12>C<6+> ion beam, the method is better than many pure chemical polymerization methods. The method has a wide reaction temperature range, has no pressure requirements and is not limited by a system state. The reaction process can adjust and control processes through control of conventional chemical technical parameters and an irradiation dose rate, is easy to promote in the industry, saves energy, reduces emission and protects the environment. The microcapsule technology is used in essential oil production and prevention and treatment on chicken coccidiosis and greatly improves the quality of essential oil products.
