Embodiment Construction

[0024] Solid formulations of detergent compositions are preferably used in granular form. This is for safety and ease of operation.

[0025] MGDA is typically processed into a ready-to-use granular form for incorporation into ADW compositions. This process is not straightforward due to the inherent hygroscopicity of MGDA.

[0026] While looking to improve this process and develop more stable granules, the applicants have unexpectedly discovered a new granule which overcomes many of the disadvantages of MGDA in detergent compositions.

[0027] The applicants have found that detergent compositions comprising co-granules of MGDA and silicate provide substantial benefits over MGDA granules alone.

[0028] Particles of the present invention are available from PQ Corporation. The granules are prepared by co-granulation of MGDA and silicate.

[0029] In particular, the granules of the invention have improved stability when stored with bleaching compounds.

Abstract

The invention relates to a detergent composition for automatic dishwashing, and more specifically, relates to the detergent composition comprising granular non-phosphate builder. The composition comprises at least one granule, and the granules comprise an amino acid based builder, preferably MGDA, and s silicate. The composition is housed in a rigid PVOH capsule.

Description

[0001] This application is a divisional application of the PCT international application PCT / GB2013 / 052096 with the filing date of August 06, 2013. The original application is an invention patent application, and the application number entering the Chinese national phase is 201380042874.7. Detergent Compositions". technical field [0002] The present invention relates to a detergent composition, in particular to a detergent composition for automatic dishwashing. Background technique [0003] Many official agencies have banned the use of phosphates in detergent compositions for environmental reasons. In the United States, for example, there has been legislation in place to prevent the use of phosphates for several years. The European Union will follow suit in 2017. [0004] This presents a challenge to detergent composition manufacturers since phosphates are very effective builders and are available at very low cost. [0005] The search for effective phosphorus-free builde...
