Abstract

The invention provides a virtual machine creation method and apparatus, and belongs to the technical field of cloud computing. The method is applied to a cloud platform; each computing node of the cloud platform comprises a network card resource pool; and each network card resource pool comprises physical network cards configured in each computing node. The method comprises the steps of receivinga virtual machine creation request, wherein the virtual machine creation request comprises parameter information of a virtual network card occupied by a to-be-created virtual machine; obtaining current resource occupation information of the network card resource pool of each computing node in the cloud platform; according to the parameter information and the current resource occupation informationof each network card resource pool, in at least one computing node of the cloud platform, determining a target computing node used for performing virtual machine creation; and calling the target computing node to create the virtual machine. Network resources of all the physical network cards in each computing node are pooled; performance requirements of different virtual machines can be taken into account during the virtual machine creation; and the resources of the computing nodes are fully and reasonably utilized.
