Abstract

The invention discloses a network function virtualization-based adaptive power-saving method and apparatus. The method comprises the following steps of, according to a preset frequency, sending a query instruction to obtain work process information of each CPU; according to the work process information of each CPU, detecting a load condition of each CPU to determine whether CPUs in low-load working conditions exist or not; if at least two CPUs in the low-load working conditions exist, then combining the CPUs in the low-load working conditions; according to the queue length of a message queue in a process of each CPU, determining whether the CPUs in high-load conditions exist or not; and if the CPUs in the high-load conditions exist, allocating CPU resources for work processes with queues which are congested or are to be congested through a process segmentation mechanism, thereby starting sleep CPU cores to work.
