Embodiment Construction

[0019] The concepts disclosed in this discussion are described and illustrated with reference to exemplary embodiments. However, these concepts are not limited in their application to the details of construction and the arrangement of components in the illustrative embodiments, and can be practiced or carried out in various other ways. The terminology herein is used for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting. Words such as "comprising," "including," and "having" and variations thereof as used herein are meant to encompass the subsequently listed items, equivalents thereof, as well as additional items.

[0020] The disclosed embodiments address the problem of providing a hydraulic signal from the hydraulic system of a power machine, such as in an excavator, through a swivel or a swivel to control a tensioning cylinder without changing the swivel. In an exemplary embodiment, the hydraulic signal is provided to at least one other hydraulic component on...

Abstract

Power machines (e.g., 100; 200; 400; 500), power sources (e.g., 120; 460; 560) for power machines, and methods (e.g., 600; 700) which provide a hydraulic signal from a hydraulic system, through the swivel joint or swivel (e.g., 415; 515), to control a tensioning cylinder (e.g., 420; 520) coupled to the undercarriage (e.g., 412; 512) without requiring a modification to the swivel. In exemplary embodiments, the same hydraulic signal provided to at least one other hydraulic component (e.g., 425; 525) on the undercarriage to control another machine function is also provided to control one or moretensioning cylinders. For example, exemplary disclosed embodiments provide the same hydraulic signal to tension a tensioning cylinder as is provided to shift one or more two-speed drive motors (e.g.,527). This prevents or reduces the likelihood of de-tracking without requiring a change or redesign of the swivel.

Description

Background technique [0001] The present disclosure relates to power machines. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to track tensioning in a power machine, such as an excavator, having a hydraulic system positioned in an upper machine section or housing that pivots about a swivel joint relative to the chassis. change. [0002] For the purposes of this disclosure, a powered machine includes any type of machine that generates power to accomplish a specific task or tasks. One type of powered machine is a work vehicle. A work vehicle is typically a self-propelled vehicle having a work implement, such as a lift arm, that may be maneuvered to perform a work function (although some work vehicles may have other work implements). Work vehicles include excavators, loaders, utility vehicles, tractors, and trenchers, just to name a few. [0003] Many power machines have variable displacement (often referred to as "two speed") drive motors with two different displacement se...
