The method comprises the following steps: determining soil required for design, structural parameters, and completing the selection of the foundation pit supporting structure type and the preliminary design scheme of each section; determining the critical soil width (critical value) which affects the distribution of soil pressure behind the wall, if the width of soil behind the wall is less than or equal to the critical value, determining the earth pressure load of finite width soil by a thin layer element method, otherwise, adopting conventional triangular or trapezoidal earth pressure load distribution; in the thin-layer element method, introducing the relationship between wall displacement and friction angle to calculate the non-limit earth pressure load. According to the obtained earth pressure load, the load structure analysis method is used to calculate the internal force of the supporting structure, and the design of the supporting structure is completed.
