Benefits of technology

Inventions described by Gardenne et al are improvements over existing methods such as Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) clocks. These new techniques help improve accuracy without increasing any noise from other sources like radioactive decay signals. They allow multiple data streams at once to pass through an amplifier simultaneously while reducing interference between them. Overall these technical benefits make it easier than previous solutions to achieve accurate timing synchronizations more efficiently and accurately across different frequencies.

Problems solved by technology

This patents describes different techniques for improving reception quality during wireless communications (wireless) signals received from mobile devices such as smartphones). One technique involves implementing specific timings between the transmitter's internal timer and the receive terminal's own timer within certain limits. Another approach focuses on achieving precise timing synchronism with external sources like GPS satellites. Additionally, some existing approaches involve combining both timing syncing functions into single chip designs called Time Division Multiplexed Interpolation Filter (TDMF), where timing errors are corrected before data decoding. These improvements aim to improve overall efficiency and reliability of wireless networks while maintaining accuracy in demodulating symbols recovered over longer distances.

Abstract

The invention discloses an improved all-digital timing synchronization method and device based on Gardner, wherein, the method comprises: the timing error output by Gardner timing error detector is smoothed and filtered by adopting a CIC filter; the smoothed and filtered timing errors are processed by a loop filter with pre-designed loop filter parameters; if the number of sampling points in the code element period is larger than the first threshold value, the timing controller selects a single code element to pull the timing control once; if the number of sampling points in the code element period is less than the second threshold value, the timing controller selects a plurality of code elements to pull the timing control once, so as to realize the timing synchronization of the baseband signal after the carrier stripping at the receiving end. This method can not only effectively reduce the jitter after signal synchronization, but also ensure that the time of signal synchronization locking is not too long. Moreover, this algorithm can be used for timing synchronization no matter the high sampling rate or the low sampling rate.
