Abstract

The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatus for configurable MIMO processing in wireless communications. A method for use in a transmitting station, comprising: generating payload data for transmission to a receiving station via a plurality of antennas of the transmitting station; selecting a plurality of transport streams for transmitting the payload data; selecting a corresponding modulation scheme for the transport stream; generating the plurality of encoded modulated transport streams according to the modulation scheme and the active modes in (i) single encoder mode and (ii) per-stream encoder mode; wherein each coded modulated transport streams each comprising a portion of said payload data; and providing said coded modulated transport streams to respective ones of the antennas for transmission to said receiving station.
