Abstract

The invention discloses an angle-insensitive conformal broadband reflective linear polarization converter and belongs to the field of electromagnetic wave polarization conversion. The polarization converter is formed by seamlessly stacking a metamaterial structural layer, two dielectric layers and a bottom metal backing plate. The metamaterial structural layer is composed of a long metal ring resonator, a circular metal patch and a short metal ring. The long metal ring resonator provides the anisotropy and the main resonance of the metamaterial, and the coupling of the circular metal patch andthe short metal ring adjusts the intensity and resonance frequency of magnetic resonance and electrical resonance, thereby realizing the broadband linear polarization conversion and good angle insensitivity. Furthermore, by using a flexible electromagnetic metamaterial as the dielectric layer, the designed polarization converter can be conformed to an object having a developable curved surface.
