By adopting and installing multiple vibration acceleration sensors on the surface of a transformer tank, a vibration signal of the whole transformer is obtained, phase correction is conducted on the vibration signal to obtain the vibration accelerations of all positions of the transformer tank under different working conditions, and an acceleration cloud image is drawn according to the vibration accelerations and then are converted intogray image; a vibration co-occurrence matrix of a transformer is calculated according to the gray image, energy is extracted from the vibration co-occurrence matrix to serve as a characteristic quantity, accordingly characteristic values of the transformer under the different working conditions can be obtained, a characteristic value change rule table is obtained according to the characteristic values of the transformer under the different working conditions, and a transformer iron core state can be judged through the characteristic value change rule table.
