Abstract

The invention discloses a method for extracting and identifying the end surface defects of a steel pipe, which comprises the following steps: (1) adopting a reasonable light source construction mode of a camera, firstly dividing a binary diagram of a chamfered part of the steel pipe by a fixed threshold value; (2) fitting the chamfered inner and outer diameters of the end face of the steel pipe bythe least square method to determine whether the chamfered angle of the end face of the steel pipe is reversed or not; (3) creating a mask image according to the chamfered inner and outer diameter parameters fitting in step 2; (4) performing AND operation on the mask image and the original image obtained in the step (3) to obtain an image containing only the end plane and no chamfer; (5) using the OTSU algorithm to segment the end plane image according to the image obtained in the step 4 to obtain the binary image of the defect region. (6) By calculating the characteristic parameters of the defect region and using the support vector machine, the defect types can be identified.
