Abstract

The invention discloses a novel intumescent flame-retardant char-forming agent, and a preparation method thereof. The structure of the novel intumescent flame-retardant char-forming agent is disclosedin the invention, wherein n=1-3. The preparation method comprises following steps: 1, pentaerythritol and a precursor solution A are mixed, and are added into a solvent, and stirring is carried out for 9h at 100 DEG C so as to obtain a precursor B; 2, the reaction temperature of the precursor B is increased to 110 DEG C, continuous reaction is carried out for 1h, then the temperature is increasedto 150 DEG C, tris(hydroxyethyl) isocyanate is added into the precursor B, a catalyst is added at the same time, dehydration reaction is carried out for 12h with stirring so as to obtain a light yellow solid product. The novel intumescent flame-retardant char-forming agent is used for polypropylene flame retardation, and compared with a conventional APP / PER system, the advantages is that the flame retardation efficiency is obviously increased.
