The method comprises following steps: taking a plurality of cigarettes of a same type, testing tobacco density distribution of each cigarette, and analyzing and calculating to obtain density difference between a highest density point and a lowest density point in a falling section of each cigarette; testing a combustion cone falling rate of each cigarette under same conditions, and obtaining the combustion cone falling rate of each cigarette; drawing a correlation curve between the combustioncone falling rate and the density difference of the cigarette model; and testing the tobacco density distribution of a cigarette to be tested of the same type, obtaining density difference between a highest density point and a lowest density point in a falling section of the cigarette, and calculating the combustion cone falling rate of the cigarette to be tested according to the correlation curve. The method firstly predicts the combustion cone falling rate of the cigarette through the tobacco density distribution, is simple and accurate, has high accuracy, and can greatly improve the efficiency of analysis and detection; and in addition, can mechanically reveal influence of the tobacco structure distribution on the cigarette combustion cone falling behavior.
