Abstract

The invention relates to an actuating device, a switchable rocker arm and a variable valve mechanism. The switchable rocker arm comprises two branch arms which can move relative to each other and a locking mechanism, wherein the locking mechanism comprises a locking pin and the actuating device, the locking pin is accommodated between longitudinal end parts of the two branch arms and can be used for connecting or disconnecting the two branch arms, the actuating device can be used for actuating the locking pin, so that the locking pin moves between a connecting position and a disconnecting position; and the actuating device comprises a locking rocker arm and a linear actuator, wherein the locking rocker arm can rotate around a pivot which is perpendicular to the locking rocker arm and is longitudinally arranged, one longitudinal end part of the locking rocker arm is actuated by the linear actuator, so that the other longitudinal end part of the locking rocker arm can actuate the locking pin, and the locking pin can move between the connecting position and the disconnecting position.
