The extract or composition can be in or as a personal hygiene producte.g. a deodorant or anti-perspirant, a cosmetic, a cosmeceutical, a surface treatment product or a preservative, and can include T. ferdinandiana fruit extract. The leaf extract can be a methanolic extract, alcoholic extract, steam extract, aqueous extract; ethyl acetate extract; chloroform extract; or hexane extract, and can include a tannin e.g. chebulic acid, corilagen, chebulinic acid or chebulagic acid and / or at least one flavone e.g. luteolin. The composition can be provided as a topical skin application.
