According to the optical fiber sensor and thevital sign detecting device, the sensor comprises the detecting section formed after the optical fiber is bent, the detecting section is fixedly connected with the elastomer, the elastomer has elastic deformation under the influences of temperature or pressure or other stimulation, and therefore the curvature of the detecting section of the optical fiber is changed; according to the principle ofthe macro-bending loss of the optical fiber, by detecting the intensity variation of the light received by a light receiver, the detection of external stimulation can be realized; the sensor is simplein structure and low in cost; by arranging the sensor in a certain structure, the sensor can be directly used for detecting pulse, respiration and other human vital signs, the detection process is not influenced by human skin color or ambient light, and the sensor is wide in application range and convenient to operate.
