Embodiment Construction

[0043] refer to figure 1 , the photobioreactor 100 includes a frame 4 and a series of modules 1 .

[0044] refer to Figure 4 , each photobioreactor module 10 is adapted to be assembled with an identical adjacent module so as to define together with the latter a cavity 14 having an opening 8 provided in the upper part and suitable for containing a culture medium. Each module 10 comprises a panel 1 , a gas injection device 21 .

[0045] The distance between two panels 1 defines the thickness of the cavity 14 , while the width of the panels 1 defines the width of the cavity 14 , and the height of the panels 1 defines the height of the cavity 14 .

[0046] refer to figure 2 , 3and 4, each panel 1 has a first face 11 and a second face 12 opposite to the first face 11. The first face 11 together with the second face 12 of the adjacent panel 1 delimits a cavity 14 suitable for containing culture medium when the module 10 is assembled. The thickness e of the cavity 14 is comp...

Abstract

The present invention concerns a module (10) for a photobioreactor suitable for being assembled to an identical adjacent module (10), comprising: a panel (1) having a first face (11) and a second face(12), opposite the first face (12), the first face (11) delimiting, with the second face (12) of the adjacent panel (1), a cavity (14) suitable for containing a culture medium when the modules (10) are assembled, the cavity (14) having a thickness (e) of between 1 millimetre and 2 centimetres, and a gas injection device (2), capable of injecting gas bubbles into the culture medium contained in the cavity (14), such that the bubbles rise along the faces (11, 12) of the panels (1).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a system for producing photosynthetic microorganisms suspended in water. Background technique [0002] A photobioreactor is a system for the production of photosynthetic microorganisms such as multicellular plants, small plants such as gametophytes, photosynthetic bacteria, cyanobacteria, eukaryotic microalgae, isolated macroalgal cells, and mosses suspended in water protofilament. [0003] This production involves culturing in aqueous media under light, most commonly cloning. Amplification is performed in successive steps up to industrial volumes of several hundreds of cubic meters, where the volume of one step is used to inoculate the next. To harvest microbial populations and ensure biomass production, the volumes at each step can be partially refreshed (continuous culture) or completely replaced (batch culture) daily. These steps correspond to increasingly larger volumes of photobioreactors. [0004] Photosynthe...
