Benefits of technology

Inventions are about making it easier than ever before we get hurt by having people sleep too much during their work hours due to lack of exercise. They want more accurate measurements from our own beatings instead of relying solely on an electrical device that requires physical touch. So they propose developing methods called Face Video (FV) techniques that don't require any external devices like cables attached to them. These FV systems also provide automatic monitoring without requiring manual input but still achieve high accuracy compared to traditional methods such as ECG machines. Overall these technical improvements aimed towards improved healthcare outcomes through smartphone applications and internet connectivity.

Problems solved by technology

This patents describes methods used during cardiac examination that involve measuring electrical activity on body parts like fingers or earlobes. However, these techniques are invasively performed at least once per patient due to their complexity and high costs associated therewith. Non- contact measurements have limitations because they require physical touch between sensor points and subjects being tested. There also exist other ways to detect breathing movements without requiring special equipment while still providing reliable results.

Embodiment Construction

[0035] Such as figure 1 As shown, a heart rate detection method based on an ordinary camera of the present invention first performs face detection, then selects the forehead as the region of interest to reduce the interference of eyes, eyebrows, hair, etc. on signal extraction, and then extracts the pulse source signal, signal Denoise, and finally calculate the heart rate, which specifically includes the following steps:

[0037] Use the AdaBoost algorithm to segment and detect the human face in the video image captured by the camera. The process is as follows figure 2 As shown, the image of each frame of the face area in the video is obtained. Since illumination changes will affect the effect of face detection, before face detection, it is necessary to perform illumination compensation on the image. Histogram equalization removes the effects of changing lighting conditions. Therefore, before performing face detection, the method of histogr...

Abstract

The invention relates to the technical field of biomedical engineering, in particular to a heart rate detection method based on an ordinary camera. The heart rate detection method includes the steps that firstly, a front face video image is collected by the ordinary camera, a face region is extracted from the image by using a face detection algorithm and a face tracking technology, a forehead is selected and located as an interested region, and the interested region is extracted as a region for signal acquisition; then technologies of basic color separation, independent component analysis andthe like are used, a pulse source signal is extracted from the interested region, and treated by wavelet filtering, and pure pulse waves are obtained; and finally, a discrete fourier transform algorithm is used for transforming the signal from a time domain into a frequency domain, an energy spectrum is obtained and analyzed, and then a heart rate value is calculated. According to the heart rate detection method based on the ordinary camera, the detection efficiency and the use experience of a testee are effectively improved, and the heart rate detection method is suitable for long-term heartrate monitoring and disease prevention.
