Abstract

The invention relates to an elevator and a speed limiter thereof. The speed limiter comprises a speed limiter rope wheel (10), a fixed clamp block (32), a swinging clamp block (31), flailing blocks (13 and 14) and a clamp block locking mechanism, wherein the clamp block locking mechanism locks the swinging clamp block in a normal running state to keep a preset interval between the swinging clamp block and the speed limiter rope wheel and loosens the swinging clamp block under triggering of the flailing blocks to make the swinging clamp block and the fixed clamp block jointly clamp a speed limiter rope. At least one of the fixed clamp block and the swinging clamp block is provided with heat release parts (43 and 47), and the heat conductivity coefficient of the heat release parts is largerthan that of a clamp block body provided with the heat release parts. The portions, corresponding to the heat release parts, of a frame body (21) are provided with heat absorption parts (48 and 49), and the heat conductivity coefficient of the heat absorption parts is larger than that of the frame body. When the swinging clamp block and the fixed clamp block clamp the speed limiter rope, the heatrelease parts are in contact with the heat absorption parts. In this way, friction heat can be transferred to the heat absorption parts through the heat release parts, and thus temperature rise of theclamp blocks is inhibited.
