Embodiment Construction

[0024] In the following detailed description, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the embodiments. However, one of ordinary skill in the art will understand that embodiments may be practiced without these specific details. In other instances, well-known methods, procedures, components and circuits have not been described in detail so as not to obscure the embodiments.

[0025] Some embodiments described herein relate to providing intelligent and automated review of industrial asset integrity data. These embodiments may be useful when examining industrial assets associated with various entities including business or corporate entities, governments, individuals, non-profit organizations, and the like. As discussed herein, these assets may generally be discrete or limited in scope (e.g., aircraft, helicopters, ships, submersibles, space vehicles, satellites, locomotives, etc.) or may be geographically distributed (for example,...

Abstract

In some embodiments, a meta-data inspection data store may contain hierarchical components and subcomponents of an industrial asset and define points of interest. An industrial asset inspection platform may access that information and generate an inspection plan, including an association of at least one sensor type with each of the points of interest. The platform may then store information aboutthe inspection plan in an inspection plan data store and receive inspection data (e.g., from a manual inspection, from an inspection robot, from a fixed sensor, etc.). A smart tagging algorithm may beexecuted to associate at least one point of interest with an appropriate portion of the received inspection data based on information in the inspection plan data store.

Description

Background technique [0001] The subject matter disclosed herein relates to industrial asset management, and more specifically, to monitoring and managing the health of industrial assets. [0002] Various entities may own or maintain various types of industrial assets as part of their operations. Such assets may include physical or mechanical devices or structures which, in some cases, may utilize electrical and / or chemical technology. Such assets can be used or maintained for various purposes and, depending on the context, can be characterized as capital infrastructure, inventory, or in other terms. For example, industrial assets can include distributed assets, such as pipelines or grids, as well as individual or discrete assets, such as wind turbines, aircraft, flare towers, vehicles, etc. Assets can suffer from various types of defects that can affect operations (for example, spontaneous mechanical defects, electrical defects, or general wear and tear). For example, over ...
