Benefits of technology

This new technology allows for better adhesion between different materials like chrome layers during manufacturing processes such as copper-clad laminates or electronic components. By forming a thin film called nitrogen overall this improvement helps improve the quality of these products while reducing defects from cracks created when nitric acid was used beforehand.

Problems solved by technology

This patented technical solution describes how changing the type of metal used on the inside of a valve can improve its durability under extreme conditions such as high temperatures. However, there may be other factors involved with this process like weaknesses caused by changes made over time due to environmental effects.

Abstract

The invention discloses an air valve surface strengthening treatment method. The binding force between an air valve and a nitride layer and between the nitride layer and a chromium cladding layer is reinforced by first performing overall nitriding on the air valve, then performing chromium electroplating on a rod part of the air valve and finally performing diffusion annealing. According to the air valve surface strengthening treatment method, micro-cracks produced by nitriding are made up by filling the chromium cladding layer, and then Cr and N compounds are generated on the surface of the air valve through an annealing method, so that mechanical binding of the Cr and N in the micro-cracks is changed into chemical binding; therefore, the influence of the micro-cracks of the nitride layeris weakened; and the defect that the binding force between the chromium cladding layer and an air valve substrate is not strong because of direct binding in the conventional chromium electroplating method is effectively overcome.
