Embodiment Construction

[0055] In order to solve the problems of the prior art, the present invention proposes a resource management engine, which can minimize the cost of resource configuration for online cloud services while ensuring tail delay SLO. The present invention reduces resource configuration cost through a workload-aware resource expansion method. Compared with fixed systems, the present invention improves the prediction accuracy of unsteady periodic workloads and supports combined scale-up and scale-out operations to minimize start-up costs. It also integrates feedback-based QoS management policies to avoid possible SLO breaks due to prediction errors.

[0056] The present invention is designed to run in container-enabled systems, where each service instance runs as a container. Choose containers instead of virtual machines because it enables resource adjustment operations without stopping and restarting containers, and operations can take effect within tens of milliseconds. The presen...

Abstract

The invention belongs to the technical field of cloud computing, and aims to realize online control of resource allocation, optimize a resource allocation result and minimize the resource allocation amount of long-term online cloud service. According to the technical scheme adopted by the invention, the load-aware cloud computing resource elastic distribution system comprises: a request load capacity predictor used for learning historical request load capacity and predicting the request load capacity of the next period; a resource reconstructor which is used for constructing a resource performance model so as to estimate required resources supporting the prediction request load capacity; and an online controller which is configured to dynamically adjust allocated resources of the service at runtime, is activated when a predicted error is up to near a service level target SLO violation, and recycles the overconfigured resources using a resource recycling algorithm to improve resource utilization efficiency. The system and method are mainly applied to cloud resource allocation occasions.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the technical field of cloud computing, in particular to the field of container-based resource supply and allocation. Background technique [0002] Cloud computing enables service developers to focus on the service itself without worrying about service deployment. It frees service developers from complex and heavy maintenance. Work on hardware infrastructure by simply renting large amounts of computing power (e.g., servers, storage, networking) from cloud providers and paying for resources on demand. While users always want to reduce costs by leasing their services by precisely shaping resource requirements, cloud providers cannot provide stable quality of service due to changing workloads and unpredictable resource contention from tenants sharing the cloud ( Quality of Service, referred to as QoS). Breaking down the user experience is quite expensive, for example, just a second of page load speed can cost Amazon $1.6 billio...
