Embodiment Construction

[0027] Figure 2A is a schematic cross-sectional view of an infection control pack 29 of the present invention in a fully assembled and inflated state to form a tent 30 . The tent consists of a thin, foldable sheet of translucent plastic 31 which can be supported by a foldable frame formed by sticks 35 . A distinctive feature of the infection control kit is the cross-out logo (marker X) 32 which is adhered to the patient's body at the suggested location of the surgical incision. In a prior art design, such as Figure 2A The bottom of the tent will extend at least as far as the patient's chest, as indicated by the dashed line in . Alternatively, it can also extend below the patient. The effort required to sterilize the tent is greatly reduced due to the use of the Marker X 32 to adjust the size of the tent base.

[0028] Figure 4A The folded state of the infection control bag 29 of the present invention is shown in . from Figure 4A It can be seen that, in the folded st...

Abstract

An infection control package (29) is made from an ultra-thin and translucent foldable plastic sheet (31) and a collapsible frame formed from rods (35). The rods (35) and sheet (31) can be in a compactpackage (29) that can be assembled into a surgical tent (30). A cross circle (32) located in the plastic sheet (31) at a bottom portion thereof is provided with an adhesive (40) under a cover sheet (42) so that the cross circle (32) can be adhered to the skin of a surgical patient at the site of the proposed surgery, thus reducing at least the bottom area of the tent (30).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates generally to a sterile operating room, and more particularly to a small portable infection control kit that can be converted into a sterile operating room. Background technique [0002] When surgical procedures are performed, it is important that the procedure is performed in a sterile environment to prevent infection. In modern facilities, this usually involves a very clean operating room that may be equipped with positive airflow to reduce the airborne spread of germs, bacteria and viruses. In addition, these instruments have been sterilized. Staff in the operating room wash their hands, put on surgical gowns, surgical caps and masks. A sterile drape will be placed on the patient and the surgical area will be swabbed with alcohol. [0003] These preparations for surgery in a sterile environment are expensive and time-consuming. Many of these features are not available in some less-than-complete facilities. When oper...
