Abstract

The invention relates to a bias control device and a bias control method based on a dual-polarization IQ modulator. The bias control device comprises a dual-polarization IQ modulator which is used forcarrying out coherent modulation on an optical carrier wave emitted by a light source; a controller which is electrically connected with the dual-polarization IQ modulator and is used for acquiring the optical power of the optical carrier modulated by the dual-polarization IQ modulator and adjusting a bias voltage value in a preset bias voltage range according to the minimum value or the median value of the optical power; and a voltage-controlled constant current circuit, wherein the input end is connected with the controller, the output end is connected with the dual-polarization IQ modulator; the voltage-controlled constant current circuit is used for outputting a bias signal for coherent modulation to the dual-polarization IQ modulator based on the bias value output by the controller,so that under the condition that the bias value is frequently adjusted, the linear characteristic between an input signal and an output signal of the voltage-controlled constant current circuit can beutilized to realize the coherent modulation of the dual-polarization IQ modulator.
