A train master control system comprises a first main control board and a second main control board which are redundant to each other. After the first main control board is powered on and enters a CPUnormal starting state, the first main control board is configured to judge whether second main control board state information sent by the second main control board is received within a first preset duration or not, and if the second main control board state information is received, the first main control board enters a comparison state; and in the comparison state, when no error exists in the second main control board state information, the first main control board is configured to compare the state of the first main control board with the state of the second main control board according to the second main control board state information and enter a master switching state or a slave switching state according to the comparison result. According to the system, the master-slave states of thetwo main control boards in the main control system are switched by providing an ordered and stable state machine switching mode. The two main control boards compete and switch between the master device and the slave device by monitoring the states of the main control boards and the states of the other main control boards, wrong switching and frequent switching can be effectively avoided, and therefore the reliability of the system is improved.
