Abstract

The invention relates to a method and system for writing to and reading from a memory device. A computer-implemented method for writing to and reading from a printed memory device is provided. Data tobe written to the printed memory device is segmented into a plurality of data portions. Each data portion of the plurality of data portions is written to a memory cell of the printed memory as a tuple using a determined encoding scheme that is characterized by a voltage and a pulse width. The voltage that is used for the encoding scheme is within a predetermined polarization regime of the printedmemory device. Tuples of data can be read from memory cells of the printed memory using a decoding scheme.

Description

technical field [0001] The present teachings relate to the field of memory devices, and more particularly, to methods and systems for writing to and reading from printed memory devices. Background technique [0002] Xerox Printed Memory ("XPM") is a printed label that can include rewritable memory. In one exemplary use, the tags may be used for testing to determine whether a product is faulty or working properly and whether it is authentic or authentic to prevent counterfeiting. For example, printed memory may be attached as a label to consumable products, supplies, shipping packaging, consumer products, documentation, customer replaceable products, and the like. Data from the printed memory can be read and compared with expected results or values. If the value read by the memory reader from the printed memory matches the expected value, circuitry within the memory reader can identify the printed memory (and thus the item it is attached to) as working and / or authentic. In...
