Abstract

The invention provides a self-organizing feature mapping neural network (SOM) algorithm processing method based on an intelligent chip. The SOM neural network is a classic clustering algorithm in unsupervised machine learning and is widely applied to image processing, data mining and deep learning. According to the method, an SOM neural network algorithm is divided into a plurality of steps without data dependence, and the process is called as Kernel division in the following. Under the condition that the high degree of parallelism of each step is ensured, each step is implemented on a GPU, and the Kernel is realized and optimized step by step correspondingly. After a single Kernel is efficiently realized on the GPU, all the steps are integrated into one Kernel. According to the method, the integrated Kernel is deeply optimized, and in the process of integrating and iterating each step, a global synchronization method is used, so that an efficient SOM neural network algorithm which canbe completed by starting the Kernel once at a GPU end is finally realized.
