[0130] The A and B functions are computed by introducing a weighting function w(x,y,x′,y′) within the integral of M, i.e., M=∫ R (L-AB) 2 wdxdydx′dy′, we can apply our strategy in the LFD of Huang 2015 (see figure 2 ), rather than increasing the number of beams as g increases. As mentioned earlier, this function w must be approximately proportional to the importance of the ray (x, y, x', y'). This function is larger for rays likely to reach the fovea and decreases with increasing distance between the fovea and the point of ray interception on the retina. In this way, the best approximation of the product AB to the function L is obtained in the region of the field R containing the beams that can reach the fovea, so that for these beams the smallest loss of resolution occurs when approximating L with AB. Since the weight function w(x,y,x',y') is very low in the region far away from the point pair (x,y)=(0,0), (x',y')=(0,0) , and to avoid noisy calculations, it is useful to ...

Abstract

The present invention provides a display device arranged to generate a light field to illuminate a human eye. The light field comprising a plurality of pencils that virtually intersect a first reference surface and a second reference surface, said fist reference surface being the plane passing through the eye ball sphere center and is perpendicular to the skull frontward direction, and said secondreference surface located at a distance from the user's skull and being a portion of a sphere centered the eye hall sphere center. The center of said second reference surface defined as the intersection point of the line passing through the eye ball sphere center and pointing in the skull's frontwards direction. Each pencil is a set of straight lines, segments of said lines coincident with lightray trajectories illuminating the eye having an approximately equal luminance and color at any time.
