Abstract

A gas turbine for a power plant comprises at least one turbine provided with at least one row of stator vanes configured for guiding an hot gas flow, wherein each vane is outwardly connected to an outer casing and comprises an inner platform; a carrier inwardly arranged relative to the vane inner platform, a membrane seal extending from the carrier to the vane inner platform to isolate the lower-pressure hot gas from a volume below the vane inner platform, downstream the membrane seal that is fed by higher-pressure cooling air, wherein the membrane seal comprises an inner end housed in a groove in the carrier, an outer end housed in a groove in the vane inner platform, a membrane connecting the inner and outer ends, wherein the membrane is offset at the outer end towards the higher-pressure air volume, so that on the operating conditions, the upstream surface of the vane grooves do not contact the membrane.
