The method comprises the steps of obtaining the coordinates and instantaneous speed of a target vehicle at an intersection in a preset coordinate system, and the preset coordinate system being built with a radar installed at the intersection as an original point; determining a lane where the target vehicle is located and a current acceleration based on the coordinates and the instantaneous speed of the target vehicle; judging the state of the lane according to the lane where the target vehicle is located and the current acceleration; and if the lane is in the stop state, recording a tracked and lost target in the lane, and adding the lost target into a queuing area of the lane to calculate the queuing length of the lane. According to the method, the acceleration is used for judging the state of the intersection at the moment, meanwhile, the defect that static and low-speed targets are difficult to recognize by a radar is utilized, tracking loss of vehicles serves as key information to achieve calculation of the vehicle queuing length, and the data result is more real and accurate.
