According to one aspect of the present invention, a master cylinder may be provided, comprising: a cylinder body having a bore formed therein; a piston provided to be retractable in the bore and provided to have a portion protruding from the cylinder body; a housing provided to surround the protruding portion of the piston and having a through hole formed therein so as to allow insertion of an input rod connected to a brake pedal for pressurizing the piston; a friction member, provided between the housing and the piston, for increasing a frictional force with the piston when the piston extends and retracts; and a pedal simulator, connected to the piston, for providing a repulsive force to the brake pedal.
