example 1

[0101] Figure 9 An example of a communication sequence performed in a communication system is illustrated. Here, in a communication system including one access point (AP) and two communication terminals (STA), it is assumed that STA1 has connected to the BSS operated by the AP, and STA2 is performing scanning without being connected to the AP (see figure 1 ), the access point sends the beacon signal and the discovery signal as one OFDM signal.

[0102] First, the AP determines the number of channels to which discovery signals are assigned based on its own transmission power information (SEQ901). Subsequently, details of the processing procedure for determining the number of channels to which the access point allocates discovery signals will be described.

[0103] Thereafter, the AP generates the beacon signal and the discovery signal into one OFDM signal (SEQ902), and simultaneously transmits the beacon signal and the discovery signal (SEQ903). Subsequently, details of the...

example 2

[0148] Figure 19 An example of allocation of beacon signals and discovery signals (relationship between frequency and power) is illustrated. As described above, an access point may distribute beacon signals to used channels and discovery signals to multiple channels. exist Figure 19 In the example illustrated in , the transmission time of the discovery signal is shorter than that of the beacon signal. Therefore, until the transmission of the discovery signal is completed and then the transmission of the beacon signal is completed, radio resources other than the used channel may be wasted.

[0149] It can also be considered that a large amount of information is set in the discovery signal and the transmission time is extended to efficiently use resources. In contrast, in this example, there is proposed a method of shortening the transmission required to transmit a beacon signal by broadening the beacon signal from the middle using a channel other than the used channel afte...

Abstract

Provided is a communication device which reduces the scanning time of a communication terminal. The communication device, which functions as an access point, is provided with: a first signal processing unit which generates a first signal notified to a subordinate communication terminal; a second signal processing unit which generates a second signal notified to the communication terminal before being connected and including information related to the first signal; and a communication unit which transmits the first signal and the second signal simultaneously. The second signal includes information related to a channel used for transmission of the first signal, and further includes at least one piece of information among a transmission length of the second signal, a transmission length of the first signal, and the number of repetitions of the second signal.

Description

technical field [0001] The technology disclosed in this specification relates to a communication device and a communication method for transmitting and receiving wireless signals. Background technique [0002] In a wireless local area network (LAN) system, a technique for selecting a channel to be used by an access point, causing a communication terminal to scan all channels, and searching for an access point located nearby has been used. A communication terminal can send a probe request to an access point without scanning a channel, receive a probe response from an access point operating on the channel, and acquire information about the network. [0003] In recent years, with the explosive growth of wireless LAN systems, an environment in which countless access points exist adjacent to each other has developed, and thus frequency channel resources have been exhausted. For example, it is assumed that a 6GHz frequency band is newly used in addition to the 5GHz frequency band...
