Problems solved by technology

Typically, in order to obtain an adequate supply of lubricant, the differential comprising the transmission includes a reservoir containing lubricant which is transferred to the rotation of the entire transmission via at least one rotating component comprising the differential and in contact with the lubricant. The components are used for lubrication, however, there should always be a high level of lubricant in the reservoir of the differential, as a result, churning losses to the differential wheels and power losses in the overall drivetrain will be high
Alternatively, nozzles are often used for active lubrication of specific rotating parts that would otherwise incur additional cost and process

Abstract

The invention relates to a transmission system for an electric vehicle. The transmission system includes: an electric motor configured to provide driving power and including a rotor and a drive shaft driven by the rotor; a decelerator configured to decelerate and increase torque received from the drive shaft, the decelerator including an intermediate drive shaft having a hollow axial passage; and a pumping component configured to deliver a lubricant. The pumping component is mechanically integrated on and driven by the intermediate drive shaft and includes a plurality of channels for supplying lubricant into a hollow axial channel of the intermediate drive shaft and to components disposed on the intermediate drive shaft.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure relate generally to drivelines for electric vehicles, and more particularly to integrated lubrication circuits for drivelines. Background technique [0002] The trend to design and manufacture energy-efficient, low-emission vehicles has increased significantly, driven by environmental concerns coupled with increasing fuel costs. At the forefront of this trend is the development of electric vehicles such as BEVs, HEVs, PHEVs, range-extended EVs, fuel cells, etc., which combine a relatively efficient internal combustion engine with an electric drive motor. Electric vehicles may include rotating parts, especially the drive train, which require lubrication to prolong the life of the rotating parts. Typically, in order to obtain an adequate supply of lubricant, the differential comprising the transmission includes a reservoir containing lubricant which is transferred to the rotation of the entire transmission via at le...
