The invention provides a method for determining a clock and a related device, and the method comprises the steps: when a second network device and a first network device are synchronized with a reference clock, through employing the time delay information between the second network device and the first network device and the frequency information of the clock of the second network device, simulating a second virtual clock synchronized with a first virtual clock, wherein the first virtual clock is used for simulating the clock of the first network equipment. According to the technical scheme, the clock of the second network equipment can be simulated, so that follow-up operation can be carried out by utilizing the simulated clock, for example, the synchronization performance of the PTP message of the second network equipment can be estimated by utilizing the simulated clock.
