Abstract

The invention discloses a device and method for enhancing flowing and mixing of fluid in a closed cavity through natural convection. The device comprises side walls defining a cavity body, cooling areas and heating areas are alternately arranged on the two opposite side walls respectively, in the horizontal direction, the cooling area on one side wall corresponds to the heating area on the other side wall, and the heating area on one side wall corresponds to the cooling area on the other side wall. Upward boundary layer flow formed by hot fluid is formed in the heating area, downward boundary layer flow formed by cold fluid is formed in the cooling area, and the upward boundary layer flow and the downward boundary layer flow form two typical reverse flows, namely head-on impact flow and back flow. According to the device and method for enhancing flowing and mixing of the fluid, the fluid in the boundary layer area and the central area of the whole cavity can fully flow and be mixed and adjusted.
