Abstract

The invention discloses an application of ginkgolide A in preparation of a medicine for treating MI-induced heart failure. The invention discloses the GA capable of improving MI-induced cardiac dysfunction and fibrosis of mice. The GA treatment inhibits the increase of collagen I, collagen III and fibrosis in the NRCFs, as well as the increase of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP), brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) and beta-myosin heavy chain (beta-MHC) in the NRCMs. The GA can reduce cardiac dysfunction and remodeling by binding to MMP9, thereby reducing inflammation. Therefore, the GA is the potential medicine for treating cardiac remodeling.
