[0115] Example XR Headset Component Optical Arrangement

[0116] Figure 15 A block diagram showing the arrangement of optical components of an XR headset 920 is shown, according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. refer to Figure 15 , the display device 1450 is configured to display an XR image generated by the XR headset controller 1430 from which light is projected to the display screen 1302 as the XR image 1500 . Display 1302 is configured to combine light from XR image 1500 and light from real world scene 1502 into a combined enhanced view 1504 that is directed to user's eye 1510 . Display 1302 configured in this manner acts as a see-through display. XR headset 920 may contain any number of tracking cameras 1440 . Camera 1440 may be a visible light capture camera, a near infrared capture camera, or a combination of both.

Abstract

A camera tracking bar of a camera tracking system for computer assisted navigation during surgery. The camera tracking bar includes a first set of stereo tracking cameras having first resolution, first field of view, and spaced apart on the camera tracking bar by a first baseline distance. The camera tracking bar also includes a second set of stereo tracking cameras having second resolution, second field of view, and spaced apart on the camera tracking bar by a second baseline distance that is less than the first baseline distance. The second set of stereo tracking cameras is positioned between the first set of stereo tracking cameras, and the resolution and / or the field of view of the second set of stereo tracking cameras is different from the resolution and / or the field of view of the first set of stereo tracking cameras. A communication interface provides camera video streams to the camera tracking subsystem.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates to medical devices and systems, and more particularly, to camera tracking systems for computer-aided navigation during surgery. Background technique [0002] Computer-aided navigation during surgery may provide the surgeon with a computerized visualization of the current pose of the surgical tool relative to the medical image of the patient's anatomy. Camera tracking systems for computer-aided navigation use one or more stereo camera systems to track a set of fiducials attached to surgical tools that are positioned by a surgeon or other user during surgery. A set of fiducials, also known as a dynamic reference array, allows the camera tracking system to be used to determine the pose of the surgical tool relative to the anatomy in the medical image and relative to the patient for display to the surgeon. Thus, surgeons can use real-time pose feedback to navigate surgical tools during surgical procedures. [0003] Navigati...
