Problems solved by technology

When on sidewalks, trails, and other pedestrian infrastructure, LPEV users may behave like fast-moving pedestrians (e.g., joggers), but are constantly moving around or through crowds at higher speeds, which means traditional pedestrians The model is also insufficient

[0015] Now turning to the attached image, figure 1 An illustrative architecture 100 is depicted in which the techniques and structures of the present disclosure may be implemented. Architecture 100 may include users 102 , LPEVs 104 , vehicles 106 , and service providers 108 . In general, architecture 100 may include more or fewer LPEVs and vehicles than those shown. In some examples, the LPEV and vehicle may be referred to as one or more agents.

[0016] Generally, the LPEV 104 , the vehicle 106 , and the service provider 108 may communicate with each other through the network 110 . Network 110 may include any or a combination of a number of different types of networks, such as wired networks, the Internet, wireless networks, and other private and / or public networks. In some cases, the network 110 may include a cellular network, Wi-Fi, or Wi-Fi Direct. It should be understood that neither the LPEV 104 nor the vehicle 106 need (but may) be adapted to connect to the network ...

Abstract

Hybrid lightweight personal electric vehicle analysis is disclosed herein. An exemplary method includes determining empirical data from a Light Personal Electric Vehicle (LPEV) over a period of time; determining an LPEV behavior during the time period according to the empirical data; and constructing a hybrid simulation model by switching between a pedestrian simulation model when the LPEV behavior corresponds to a pedestrian behavior and a vehicle simulation model when the LPEV behavior corresponds to a vehicle behavior within the time period.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure generally relates to the field of lightweight personal electric vehicles. Background technique [0002] Lightweight Personal Electric Vehicles (LPEVs) are part of an emerging mode of transportation called micromobility. These LPEVs may include small and lightweight vehicles that are easily foldable and portable, such as balance bikes, electric scooters, bicycles, electric bicycles, and the like. LPEVs can be carried on mass transit vehicles and inside buildings, and may require human assistance to balance and maneuver. LPEVs can provide short-range service and first- and last-mile connections with other transportation options. [0003] Transportation engineers attempt to study the effects of micromobility on pedestrian and vehicular traffic flow by running simulations in a virtual environment. LPEV occupants switch their behavior between vehicles and pedestrians, which complicates modeling. [0004] Conventional traffic simul...
