AI Technical Summary

Benefits of technology

This technology makes for an easier way to attach something like a fake frog onto their natural nails instead of being permanently fixed into them afterwards. Instead of having permanent stickers made from plasters, this new type of material has two layers - one contains bubbles at regular intervals along its length – allowing easy removal when needed while still providing strong enough bond strength between itself and any other thing they are trying to fix themselves securely over time.

Problems solved by technology

Technic problem addressed in this patented technical solution described in the previous paragraph relates to improving nail ornament designs without compromising their effectiveness due to poor adhesions caused during application process steps such as cleanup after applying glue before drying out. Existing solutions involve adding extra components (such as films) onto the surface of the artificial nails themselves but they may also require multiple applications per day.

Embodiment Construction

[0018] According to the drawing, a preferred embodiment of the pre-glued nail decoration elongated accessory according to the invention is shown. Attachment 10 generally includes an elongated cover layer 11 and a pressure sensitive adhesive layer 12 secured to the bottom surface of the cover layer.

[0019] Covering layer 11 has a top surface 13 , a bottom surface 14 , a first (or proximal) end 15 , and a second (distal) end 16 . The first end 15 should at least approximate the shape and size of the end of a user's fingernail in terms of shape and size. In the case of nail tip 17, such as figure 1 As shown, the first end 15 should approximate the shape and size of a user's fingernail in shape and size. In the case of the nail cover 18, as shown in FIG. 2, the first end 15 is about the shape and size of the entire natural nail in shape and size.

[0020] Covering layer 11 is generally of uniform thickness, but may be reduced in thickness at the first (ie, tapered) end to adh...

Abstract

An ornamental accessory for a fingernail comprises an overlay having a reusable pressure-sensitive adhesive layer pre-applied to a bottom surface thereof for application and bonding to the wearer's natural nail, and a method of making the same. The adhesive formulation is a copolymer of acrylic ester and vinyl acetate formed from an aqueous acrylic copolymer emulsion. The bottom surface of the overlay to which the adhesive is applied is textured to enhance adhesion of the adhesive layer. A method for forming a pre-glued ornamental fingernail accessory includes the steps of forming an overlay having the shape and size of a natural fingernail and applying an aqueous copolymer emulsion, as described above, to a bottom surface of the overlay. The emulsion is allowed to cure whereby a substantial portion of the water in the emulsion is evaporated to form a reusable pressure-sensitive adhesive layer fixed to the overlay. The pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is reactivated by adding an aqueous solution to the dried aqueous copolymer emulsion.
