The resulting reaction mixture was stirred at 100° C. for 30 min, then at 110° C. for 1.5 hr while collecting the distillate in a Dean-Stark trap. The reaction was continued for 30 min at 120 °C, 30 min at 130 °C, 2 hr at 140 °C, during which time a total of 12.5 ml of distillate was collected. The resulting mixture was then allowed to cool, and the resulting resin collected.
