Embodiment Construction

[0024] Exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be described below. In the interest of clarity, not all features of an actual implementation are described in this specification. It should of course be understood that in the development of any such actual embodiment, many implementation-specific decisions must be made to achieve the developer's specific goals, such as compliance with system-related and business-related constraints, which are described in varies from one embodiment to another. Moreover, it will be appreciated that such a development effort would be complex and time consuming, but nevertheless is a routine undertaking of those of ordinary skill in the art having the benefit of this disclosure.

[0025] Figure 1 shows an exemplary embodiment of a reluctance machine according to the invention, represented in exploded view. For the sake of brevity, the term "motor" is used throughout this specification. However, those of ordinary skill in the art havin...

Abstract

A reluctance machine (1) comprises a stator (20) having an annular support member on which a plurality of stator poles (22) are arranged. The stator poles are each formed by a corresponding foil coil stator winding (26). A solid disc-shaped rotor (10) defines a plurality of protruding rotor poles (12) and is rotatably positioned on opposite sides of the support member to form an axial air gap between the rotor and stator poles. A food waste disposer incorporates such a reluctance machine.
