Abstract

The invention relates to a random number generator and a scrambler utilizing the random number generator and consist of a m * n ROM form; all the serial registers used for shifting and storing n bit(s); a selective output circuit, which receives the n bit(s) as the selective signals from the m * n ROM form, provides zero relative to the significant bit(s) of the n bit(s) output from the m * n ROM form and provides the output of the registers relative to the insignificant bit(s); and a logic circuit, which executes the XOR operation relative to the n bit(s) output by the selective output circuit and the n bit(s) output by the registers and feeds the outcome of the XOR operation back to the least significant register only under the condition of the significant bit(s) of the n bit(s) output from the m * n ROM form.
