Embodiment Construction

[0031] Fig. 1 schematically shows a shaped body 1 imitating a missing limb and a receptacle 2 for connecting a residual part 3 of the missing limb and a prosthesis, for use as a missing limb (in the illustrated embodiment is Prosthetics for visual substitutes for missing legs). According to the invention, the shaped body 1 consists of plastic and has no functional purpose. This means that with the help of the prosthesis, the functions of walking or grasping cannot be realized. Furthermore, the circumference of the receptacle 2 for connecting the stump 3 to the prosthesis is variable, so that the prosthesis can be attached to missing limb extremities of different sizes.

[0032] figure 2 A variant embodiment of the changeability of the circumference of the receptacle 2 is shown, which is formed by a partial region 4 of the elastic material of the receptacle 2 . In this way, the circumference of the receptacle 2 can be adapted to different sizes of residual parts 3 of missing...

Abstract

The invention relates to a lightweight prosthesis for the purely cosmetic replacement of missing limbs, comprising a shaped body (1) as a most natural copy of the missing limb as possible and a housing for connecting the prosthesis to the stump of the missing limb. According to the invention, such a prosthesis for temporary or permanent use, which has no function and is thus suitable for elderly patients may be achieved, whereby the moulded body (1) is made from lightweight plastic material and the periphery of the housing for connecting the prosthesis to the stump may be altered in a conventional manner. The moulded body (1) in particular, can also be made from an elastic airtight plastic material (9) and have at least one valve (10) for inflating the moulded body (1).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a lightweight prosthesis for the purely visual replacement of a missing limb with a shaped body imitating the missing limb and a receptacle for connecting the remainder of the missing limb to the prosthesis. Background technique [0002] The present invention is only used as a temporary or permanent provision of visual limbs for various types of upper and lower limb amputation operations. Neither stability nor functionality can be achieved with the aforementioned prosthesis. This means that the prosthesis cannot be used for walking or grasping, but only as a visual substitute to mimic the missing limb as realistically as possible. [0003] Elderly patients, in particular, are unable to use prosthetics that allow walking or grasping after amputation. The reasons for this are, on the one hand, the worse physical condition of these elderly patients and, on the other hand, the poor healing of the wounds, which preclude the use of...
