Self-inflating tire assembly

A self-inflating tire assembly includes a tire having a tire cavity between first and second sidewalls that extend respectively from first and second tire core beads to a tire tread region. At least one of the sidewalls is provided with an air tube peristaltic pump assembly. An air tube has an internal tube air passageway and is positioned within a sidewall groove in contacting engagement with opposite groove surfaces surrounding the air tube. The sidewall groove operatively bends within a rolling tire footprint to compress the air tube from an expanded diameter to a flat diameter adjacent the rolling tire footprint. A core bead passageway extends within a core bead adjacent the one tire sidewall for operatively storing air evacuated from the air tube passageway. Conduits are provided to route air from the air tube to the core bead passageway and valve mechanisms are positioned within the core bead passageway to control the flow of air from the core bead passageway into the tire cavity.

Modular tire

A device for serving as a wheel for motor vehicles, where the wheel has its tire tread replaceable when it is worn out via unique rims and molded tire features. An alternate internal structure prevents the tire from “going flat” or “blowing out” when it is punctured or cut. In one variation the tire can be used with existing rims and can be retro-fitted into existing tire by mating the tires with this invention's “Non-Flat Tire” internal element and special rim. A variation of the “Non-Flat Tiresystem uses spring-like materials for its tire core that is shaped similar to a tire's inner tube, and functions like an “air-filled” tire, but the absence of the use of air in this unique configuration gives it the “Flat Tire Prevention” effect.

The valve assembly includes a command valve, an exhaust valve and a compensation valve operatively associated with each other. The command valve controls communication between the tank and the inner volume of the tire. The exhaust valve is connected to the external environment, to the inner volume, to the command valve and to the compensation valve. The compensation valve is connected to the exhaust valve and the command valve. The command valve includes an inner chamber connected with the exhaust valve and the compensation valve in such a manner that the command valve is operated by the exhaust valve and the compensation valve through a pressure variation of the inner chamber in response to a variation of the inner pressure of the tire.

Automatic control device of tire pressure

A tyre pressure automatic controlling device is provided, which comprises a high pressure gasbag, a high pressure valve and a low pressure valve. The invention is characterized in that: the high pressure gasbag is a hollow round ring shape, which is fixed at the tyre, the high pressure gasbag and the high pressure valve are communicated by a pipeline, the low pressure valve and the tyre air chamber are communicated by pipeline, the high pressure valve and the low pressure valve are communicated with an air inlet. If the air pressure in the high pressure gasbag and the tyre air chamber is too large, which will discharge from the air discharging holes of the two valves, the pressure in the high pressure gasbag is too small, the pressure indicating arm contracts to warn the driver to charge, when the pressure in the tyre is smaller, the air of the high pressure gasbag will pass through the high pressure valve, low pressure valve and supply air to the tyre, which makes the pressure at the fixed value. The invention can effectively prevent the traffic accident caused by too large or too small tyre pressure, which can prolong the service life of the tyre and save burning oil consumption.

A system for dissipating sound shock waves within a vehicle tire includes a wheel upon which a tire is mounted to create an internal air chamber defined by the wheel and the tire. A flow-resistant barrier is coupled to the wheel or the tire and defines an air cavity within the internal air chamber. The barrier comprises a material that provides an acoustical resistance to sound shock waves passing therethrough. The air cavity defined by the barrier has a volume such that air within the cavity offers relatively small impedance to the passage of shock waves through the barrier and into the air cavity. The barrier also can produce frictional heat when displaced by a shock wave, thereby converting energy of the shock wave to heat to reduce noise associated therewith.
