A method and system for applying addressing voltages to pixels of a display involves receiving input data. The input data includes an indication of an addressing voltage impulse to be applied to a pixel via an electrode. One or more voltage sources are selected, to provide the addressing voltage impulse. The one or more voltage sources each have a pre-selected voltage. The selected one or more voltage sources are electrically connected to an electrode to apply the addressing voltage impulse to the pixel.

This invention relates to a method of performing eye gaze tracking of at least one eye of a user, by determining the position of the center of the eye, said method comprising the steps of:

• • detecting the position of at least three reflections on said eye,
  • transforming said positions to spanning a normalized coordinate system spanning a frame of reference, wherein said transformation is performed based on a bilinear transformation or a non linear transformation e.g. a möbius transformation or a homographic transformation,
  • detecting the position of said center of the eye relative to the position of said reflections and transforming this position to said normalized coordinate system,

tracking the eye gaze by tracking the movement of said eye in said normalized coordinate system.

Thereby calibration of a camera, such as knowledge of the exact position and zoom level of the camera, is avoided. Further, it is not necessary to know the position of light sources. This results in a much more flexible and user friendly system.

The apparatus could be made of a powered heater element and temperature sensors can be screen-printed, vacuum deposited, etched, welded, soldered or plated on one or both sides of a single rigid or a flexible substrate. The geometry of the heater determines the curve shape, such as steepness or shallowness of a temperature profile along a heater. Various parallel and serial configurations of thermocouples or temperature sensors can be used to measure the temperature along a heater. Simultaneous measurements from all the temperature sensors, before and after heat is applied, are used to generate accurate temperature profiles for the entire heater. Different features of the temperature profiles will determine accurately the liquid level, liquid temperature and other liquid properties. Apparatus of the invention may also be used to detect ice formation.

Mechanisms for searching XML repositories for semantically related schemas from a variety of structured metadata sources, including web services, XSD documents and relational tables, in databases and Internet applications. A search is formulated as a problem of computing a maximum matching in pairwise bipartite graphs formed from query and repository schemas. The edges of such a bipartite graph capture the semantic similarity between corresponding attributes of the schema based on their name and type semantics. Tight upper and lower bounds are also derived on the maximum matching that can be used for fast ranking of matchings whilst still maintaining specified levels of precision and recall.
