Abstract

Systems and methods for implementing and managing a distributed video surveillance system are disclosed. Systems and methods based on the present invention provide a well-organized structure for describing and implementing a distributed video surveillance system, and a service protocol for managing surveillance activities of a cluster of video surveillance cameras. In particular, the service agreement provides a high degree of control over the surveillance activities of the video surveillance cameras. Additionally, the service agreement also provides a great deal of flexibility in selecting and managing the wide range of analysis and management tools available to analyze and organize video trail information.
