The network storage device (2) comprises an embedded system processor (8) adapted to manage the storage space of the storage unit (6), an network interface component (12) and a storage unit management processor (10) adapted to organise storage data communication and to communicate storage data. The network storage device (2) is characterised in that the network interface component (12) comprises a hardware processor (20) implemented in dedicated hardware for dedicated hardware processing of data.
