However, these patents provide complex straps, latches, hinges and mechanisms for "dialing in" the required urethral pressure
Experience with the C3 and said clamps has shown that users may be confused by the additional complexity of these components

Embodiment Construction

[0045] An example embodiment of a penile compression device 10 is provided in FIGS. 1A-2 . Referring to Figures 1A-B, a penile compression device 10 is shown having a penis 3 (shown in cross-section) inserted therethrough. As is widely known, the penis 3 includes a urethra 5 and a voiding passage 5a. Other penile tissues are also shown, including the corpus cavernosum 7 and the dorsal penile neurovascular bundle 9 .

[0046] The penile compression device 10 includes a closed planar structure 14 forming first and second opposing support arms. The first and second arms form medial and lateral surfaces. Referring to FIGS. 1A-2 , the first and second support arms are similar to the upper support arm near the dorsal penile neurovascular bundle 9 and the lower support arm near the urethra 5 . It will be appreciated that the first or second support arm may be either the upper arm or the lower arm. The upper or lower markings are for illustration purposes only. The first and seco...

Abstract

A penis compression device for preventing urine leakage and method of use thereof. The first and second semi-rigid support arms are connected at opposite ends along their lengths. The support arms are biased towards each other in a rest state. The support arms are compressed lengthwise such that the support arms are deformed away from each other. When the support arms are deformed, an open area is formed between the support arms and enables insertion of the penis between the support arms. Releasing the pressure on the support arm enables the support arm to bias from a deformed state to a clamped state, wherein the support arm compresses the male urethra to prevent leakage of urine. Absorbent sleeves can be secured to the support arms to catch and retain any urine leaks.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0001] The application is a PCT international application filed on May 6, 2005 in the name of NovaTek Medical, LLC, and the U.S. patent application serial number unknown on May 5, 2005 is required to be "penis compression device", and priority of U.S. Provisional Patent Application Serial No. 60 / 569,178, filed May 7, 2004, entitled "External Penile Compression Clamp with Absorbent Attachment," all of which are incorporated herein in their entirety . technical field [0002] The present invention relates to penile compression devices. More particularly, the present invention relates to penile compression devices and methods of using said devices to externally clamp a penis to prevent leakage of urine. Background technique [0003] Penis compression clamps are well known and widely used to prevent urine leakage. Specifically, the penis clamp is externally applied to the penis for clamping the penis. The external penis clamp...
